INSTRUCTIONS: HOW TO USE THE BRICK PRESS

Here are some easy-to-follow steps for using the Brick Press to make bricks:

  1. Assemble the Brick Press: Set the jack aside. Ensure the release valve on the jack is in the closed position. Unscrew the wing nuts and remove both plates.
  2. Lubricate the Chamber (Optional): Choose a suitable lubricant and use a cloth wetted with the oil of your choice. Lubricate the inner sides of the chamber and both plates thoroughly.
  3. Position the Bottom Plate: Place the bottom plate inside the chamber with the hole facing down. Place the jack underneath the chamber, ensuring the piston is aligned with the hole.
  4. Add Material for Pressing: Pour the corn starch powder or the material of your choice into the chamber, filling it at least halfway. For materials with air pockets, like crushed recycled plastic, fill the chamber all the way to the top.
  5. Secure the Upper Plate: Place the upper plate onto the chamber with the inscription facing up. Secure it with the wing nuts.
  6. Press the Material: Assemble the handle of the press. Insert it into the socket and pump it up and down until you can no longer apply additional pressure. Avoid over-pumping to prevent damage to the press.
  7. Set the Material: Allow the material to set before proceeding to the next step.
  8. Release and Remove: Place the press upright and turn the release valve on the jack SLOWLY. Unscrew and remove the wing nuts. Insert a flathead screwdriver (3/16” to 1/4” tip) into the socket underneath the upper plate and lift the plate.
  9. Eject the Brick: Remove the plate and secure the chamber without the upper plate using the wing nuts. Turn the release valve on the jack to the closed position. Insert the assembled handle into the socket and start pumping until the bottom plate reaches the edge of the chamber, making it easy to remove.
  10. Final Touches: Slide the well-compressed brick aside, and it’s all set. Don’t forget to turn the release valve on the jack slowly and clean the press after use.

CLEANING THE PRESS

Clean the press after each use. For regular cleaning, use a damp cloth to remove any residue. For a more thorough cleanse, use rubbing alcohol.
